I founded She’s Got Chess Game: Queens Making Moves because I realized I only had male friends to play chess with! As a kid, I wanted to learn chess but was told it was a game for grown-ups. Many of my friends shared similar experiences, recounting how, as little girls, they were told chess was a game for boys. When I fell in love with chess as an adult, I wished I had started sooner.

This realization sparked my passion to create a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and girls of all ages through the game of chess. Our mission is to level the playing field, foster confidence, and build a supportive community where women—whether beginners or seasoned players—can come together, learn, and thrive.

Chess is a global game, yet only 8% of the world knows how to play, and just 15% of those players are women. That means female chess players make up just 1% of the human population. It’s time to change that. Through mentorship, skill-building opportunities, and a shared love of the game, we aim to break barriers and inspire women to make their boldest moves—on and off the chessboard.
